Robert Rauschenberg -- american artist -- he came from the black mountain college, along with john cage, charles olson, buckminister fuller, and many others willing to mess with the parameters that maintain the dimensions of our confines.
In the book I read a while ago "The Bride and the Bachelors", Rauschenberg is described drinking a large vodka and orange juice while painting, so I recommend such a beverage be drank now-ish in his memory
