Because my word processor put a red line under "all's" I decided to look it up, using the internet of course. In fact I decided to use a phrase which contains the word "all's". In fact I decided to use the phrase "All's right with the world", you may recognise this phrase. In fact you may know what precedes this phrase: "god's in his heaven" - Yes, you may know it is from a Robert Browning poem called "Pippa's Passes" -- the wikipedia link reveals interesting use of the fine word "twat" -- Also you recall don't you the phrase -here it is once more: "God's in his heaven, all's right with the world"- used in the famous study of clinical depression Neon Genesis Evangelion - yes, when some sinister "Seele" person says the phrase before becoming an undifferentiated-consciousness goo mass along with the rest of humanity -- what about all other life-forms though? -- and yes, you recall all this, with fair to middling clarity, but how did I come, via all this that you recall, to the "door of Guf(f)"?
The Doors of Guf (ガフの扉, GAFU no tobira), are mentioned directly in Episode 21 and heavily alluded to in Episode 26 (see the quote above). In the case of the latter, the actual term "Doors of Guf" appears in the script and designates the vulva-like apertures that open on Lilith's palms to receive souls
Now I can't remember what happened. I went on some forum where there was a lengthy nasty dispute going on about the virtues or not of the recent film "Rebuild of Evangelion 2: You Can (Not) Advance" (the first rebuild film You Are (Not) Alone seemed to mostly pass muster with the forum folk). I decided it was vital that I watch the rebuild of evangelion because things that are so divisive tend to be good -- examples: M John Harrison's "Light", John Clute's "Appleseed", the video game "Ikaruga", or maybe "Killer7" is a better example. The value of all these things are disputed in the already-fan environment, which means the thing has reached the core of that environment (whatever "genre") -- either it is with a sword threatening the core, or it is something emerged from the core and carries all aspects of the core, the merit of it "not to be measured from here to up down, east or west &c") (Kerouac/C.Parker-- I am on the side of the second, and understand as the virtue what is on other side considered as the flaw, a space of extreme abundance -- I keep thinking of things that are good as things that allow an opening, that is why everyone is always remembering the Robert Duncan poem "Opening of the Field" OFTEN I AM PERMITTED TO RETURN TO A MEADOW " . . . wherefrom the shadows that are forms fall . . ."
Things I like about this "evaneglion" -- incredible modulating abstraction of the angels -- they appear like carefully detailed constructions of those sort of images you may concoct by pressing against your closed eyes, concocting those geometrics cadences of your dark eyes with their recessions and falls that graduate to a loop if you continue the pressing -- the "rhodendrons" Jack Spicer mentions in the 8th "Love" section of Language:
Against the drift of rhododendrons and other images
we have not seen together
-- new character Mari Illustrious Makinami She is mysterious and has hints of perversion, and as a consequence forum people are positing she is Satan - I think this is a reasonable assumption, though it complicates the scenario of the films more than they are already doing; there is a lot of complication here -- I would consider the perversion aspects more as an example of a true unabashed, either confrontation or fully happy absorption with/into nature, and by that we see nature is a rather perverse thing , and that is the most healthy way to be, especially as a participant in the apocalypse. Here is an image of Mari Illustrious Makinami before/during/or just after, a spot of fan service
I like most of evangelion, I have watched the 2nd film 3 times and now plan to watch it 3 times more. I was wanting to write about NEON GENESIS EVANGELION for 3 months or so, I had written this which I do not understand now:
Much like how in the experience of psychosis the world becomes many-layered, well-defined but confusing among the abundant layers, sensible in one layer, nonsense in a next,Don't know what this refers to anymore. All this comes from "all's" with a red line beneath. It has little meaning. I am moving home soon and feel nervous, if you would like to talk about evenagelion or anything really, even mariah carey, that would be wonderful.
