「If you divide the number of votes each party received by the number of seats they won (as things stand now), you get these figures:
Conservatives: 35,021Labour: 33,338Liberal Democrat: 119,397That's the number of votes each party needed to win a seat.」 (from a guardian blog during the election counting of votes just the other night was it?)
I can't get my head around what this may mean. If it means what I think it may mean, then its meaning is truly baffling. (this is all long over now, we are in the mysterious repercussion phase, I wrote this prior to a misery bout denying me the right to key tap pointlessly)
It reminded me of experience points in "rpg" things (the experience point "XP" system is not confined to "rpg" things nowadays -- the world has moved on, the human endeavor continues) As you level up, the amount of XP needed increases sort of "exponentially almost"
Something else I don't understand, the proposed closure of philosophy department at Middlesex University ~ links 1/2/ 3/
「What is amazing is that the timing of this closure means that almost a million pounds of Hefce monies awarded to the department as a result of the recent RAE could be paid after its closure.
「the 2008 RAE (Research Assessment Exercise) review of the philosophers at Middlesex resulted in a revenue to the University of some £174,000 per year. However, it appears the University will be able to retain this yearly revenue until the next RAE, even if they have closed the philosophy programme. I find this highly problematic in an ethical sense and wonder how it is possible that this might be considered best practice at a respectable institution」
This looks like someone is manipulating a bug/glitch in a video game, lots of coins, infinite lives, overly powerful weapons. But the game stops being fun once these things are exploited.
(I also wrote this prior to misery bout, there have been more developments, things have gone strange, read about it here
I know for a fact all bosses are constructed for triumphing over :
