what was the book you were looking for:A large format full colour two page spread illustrations, minimal text (and that in the main a question, usually with a number as answer, ie "how many enemy towers are still operational?" -- the answer (often very tricky to figure out)(by minutely studying the illustration) was then put in some sort of chart at the back, that would then solve some sort of code -- never figured it out) -- an assortment of various species and their often very nice spacecraft launched a desperate last-chance strike at the heart of a galactic evil force -- sombre in tone, frightening in fact as the heroic pilot people were eliminated one by one . . .
circa 1984? Possibly part of some book club thing connected with primary school -- I got the melancholy and strange "Eric the Viking" around the same time
I require more concrete reperception of this space book, please.

ReplyDeletealso I was so happy, I found just two days ago the old strange toys I had played with while emerging consciousness around 4 years old, so I had no memory of before, of not having them, then they were gone, as toys are, and now I know again what they were.
