Just the other day, I was a detective on the interslot for a few tender and scary minutes. After enjoying this manga by Junji Ito from a link transmitted by a higher agency, I became curious as to what else may be secreted in the interslot site playing host. A few inept attempts at solving what I thought of as a puzzle got me nowhere. A search for the site revealed a reference to a text-based RPG and I promptly became a dwarf cleric and entered the textual town on a quest for information. But I broke their fourth wall and was ejected from the game.
The image above is from Adventure Quest on the Amstrad CPC464. Everyone seemed to be playing this game in 1984/5. My mother played it, and the parents of the little pair or trio of brothers called "the sullivans" played it, and during coffee, blockbusters on the TV, everyone would confer over what to do once you have climbed the tree to escape the wolves who then linger hungry. Drop some meat if you had picked some up, if the parser will allow it. Or was the climbing of the tree a trap, something allowed but you will die from it anyway?
