- mio summary -
...Prisoners are on a space ship which size is like a small balloon (they are all 1 inch tall). They are on an expedition but there is some kind of problem of mass in physics. Sci-fi authors in 20th Century are considered as a prophet in this age and people who are in charge of this expedition decided to go back time to seek a solution in a sci-fi convention at San Francisco...
- Mio got this magazine a while ago for about 50pence in japanese monies. It seems to take SF seriously which is very well done of it - there are even articles on astrophysics with diagrams. We will attempt to find its current form if any in the bookshops. Due to a seeming disregard by the Japanese for their own creatives unless they are recognised from without, there is no information on the webslots about the illustrators, save the one astral body reference. This looks certain to be a familiar lament, unless we make concerted effort to do something about it.
- didn't know anything about Mr Nolan, that he wrote Logan's Run. Someone read the e-book of the sequel please. I am almost 30 now. When not experiencing fear of death (FOD) I find it quite bracing.
- if anyone has read these stories, please tell all in the useful comment boxes
"1969 in the sunshine"
ReplyDeleteWell done for photocapturing and up-piping all those images which takes ages, they are much appreciated.
I can empathise the hardness of finding information online about illustrators, been looking for stuff on Paul Jones "One of England's top fantasy artists" but all is dry. Perhaps one should take comfort in the fact that the positronic eye does not see into every crevice.
One Peter Jones work:

Lovely art.
ReplyDeleteParicularly DEEPER THAN THE DARKNESS
at the top of the post.
Though, you know of my general feelings with regards to SF.
please divulge your feelings towards sf for those who do not know and for me who has forgotten.
ReplyDelete-the PKDick story almost sounds like inspiration for the quite funny film "galaxy quest" in that aliens go to a SF convention and get help from actors of tv show thing.
- mio has special technique for taking photo of magazines and books which she learnt in between bruises at kaikaikiki, or so she claims
Can Mio reveal her special magazine photography-jitsu?
ReplyDeleteI am afraid she can't do that
ReplyDelete. . . actually it turns out to not be as special as she initially claimed. I am seeking damages, etc.
did you know that "hal" is comprised ofthe letters preceding "ibm" ? I refer you to this article:

i quite feel fond of the silhouette with the little crowd of I presume humans and the alien city/spaceport/tesco they are approaching/infringing upon/buying wine at .
ReplyDeleteand the PKDICK one does a reasonable job of the commonplace of wierdness that his work often has. I don't know how relevant these illustrations are to the texts however.
- is it peter or paul jones? I enjoyed the "clans of alphane moon" cover. Haven't read that one.
